Megan Mccullor

Hey there!

I’m Megan – a destination wedding photographer, traveler, and surfer in love with the Pura Vida jungle life. In 2013 I left my PE teaching career behind in Louisiana to pursue a more fulfilled and simple life in the beautiful Costa Rican beach town of Santa Teresa. If I’m not out shooting a gorgeous wedding you can find me on the beach with my sweet dog Nola enjoying the sun and surf. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around Europe, Southeast Asia, South Africa, Morocco, the Maldives and Sri Lanka – and I can’t wait to explore so much more!

I am honored and humbled each time I get the opportunity to document such an important day of a couple’s story. I love my job and I pride myself on offering a boutique, personal experience. When you hire me, you get ME – from the initial emails to the final edits and everything in between. I put my whole heart into my business and making that experience easy, fun and stress free. I have been told I have a gift for making people feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. Just be yourself and let’s have some fun and laughs – leave the rest to me!

Questions?

• Where do you work?

I am based in Costa Rica and specialize in destination weddings in Central America, although I am available to work worldwide. I will be branching out to shoot more summer weddings in Europe in the near future.

• Do you offer wedding packages?

Of course! I offer 3 wedding packages ranging in amount of coverage along with “extras” you can add to those packages depending on your photography needs. Email me for my pricing guide [email protected]

• How do we book a date with you?

Once you choose which package best fits your wedding needs, I’ll work up a contract for you and send over the information you need to send the retainer to secure the date (amount depending on price of package selected).

• Do you edit your images?

Absolutely! I think editing is a big part of the creative process, and seeing the photographers’ vision of the photos to the end is important. So, I do all of my editing myself.

• What happens after you shoot our wedding?

Once your wedding is complete I will begin the editing process, which includes backing up your images, culling them, and ultimately editing each photo. You will receive emails throughout the editing process to keep you up to date with my workflow progress and you’ll also get a sharable link to your gallery so that your guests can pre-register for your gallery.

Expect your wedding gallery to be ready between six to eight weeks after your wedding day. From the gallery you’ll be able to download not only the high-resolution files but also web-sized images. Your gallery will be housed there for one year with an option to extend it if you wish.

If you’d like to see a full gallery from a past client, let me know – I’d be happy to share.

• Do you work with a second photographer?

Yes, my largest package includes a second shooter, and for those longer wedding days I highly recommend it. I pride myself on choosing some of the best photographers to shoot along side of me. Here are a few examples of when a second shooter should be considered:
° If your wedding is 100+ guests with many details to capture.
° If the two people getting married are getting ready at locations far apart from each other and both want start to finish getting ready coverage.

• Is it possible to order prints through you?

Of course! In your wedding gallery there are options to order prints, gallery wraps and many more fun products. You also have the option to print at a professional printer of your choice – the printing rights are yours.

• What inspires you?

Light. Emotion. Connection. Movement. Simplicity… Couples who feel each other, who have a soul-connection, who want to have fun together, laugh, and get REAL in front of my lens.

•How do you approach a wedding?

Photo journalistically when I can, although I will tweak some situations in order to squeeze the best light out of a scene. I like to capture all of the true moments as they unfold. I want you to be yourself, let go, and enjoy the day!

• How many images do you deliver?

I usually deliver between 80-120 photos per hour I shoot

• Can we meet?

Yes I’d love to connect with you (whether virtually or in person), hear your story, and ultimately see it is a good fit to work together.
