Check out Allison and Tim’s entire Santa Teresa beach wedding below. Don’t miss the beautiful circular ceremony altar created by Stylos y Flores and Allison’s to-die-for Galia Lahav dress!
Rachel and Amado came down to Costa Rica with their tightest group of friends to exchange their love vows. As a Santa Teresa wedding photographer I’m always flattered to be asked to shoot one of the biggest days of a couples’ life together, but when that couple happens to be two filmmakers it’s an extra special feather in the cap.
As a Louisiana native myself, I quite often miss so many traditions from home. Emily and Kieran’s wedding encompassed so much of the New Orleans and south Louisiana culture that it was hard not to laissez les bons temps rouler (let the good times roll) while shooting this! With a second line, oyster pirogue, beautiful oak tree ceremony, Jazz band and mini poboys; I was wrapped up in a big south Louisiana hug all day long – even though the wedding was held just a hop, skip and a jump from New Orleans in the beautiful beachside town of Pass Christian, Mississippi.
Next to the definition of love at any age is certainly a photo of Lou and Bill. This couple has that spark, pazazz and beautiful story to go along with it. Bill was a widow, Lou divorced, and both have older children. Lou and Bill met at bar over Smokey Manhattan drinks and the rest was history. Their Costa Rica micro wedding was broadcast on Zoom for all of their extended family and friends at home to view. At the end of their ceremony they toasted with Smokey Manhattans as a salute to their first meeting.
After getting engaged in Samara, Aleasha and Brandon planned on coming back to Costa Rica with their friends and family to have a big wedding celebration, but unfortunately the universe had a different plan for them when the pandemic hit. Instead Aleasha and Brandon opted for a Costa Rica elopement in December and it was such a sweet day!
Rivkah and Korey chose the gorgeous sleepy town of Esterillos to host their family and friends for their wedding festivities. I had yet to really explore this area of Costa Rica but I must say I was pleasantly surprised with how stunning it was and with a rather authentic vibe.
Loriane and Kevin happened to be in Costa Rica during the start of the pandemic and were lucky enough to have scheduled their elopement with Ylang Ylang Beach Resort just days before the lockdown. I know I’ve said it before, but I REALLY love shooting elopements. The intimacy the day brings and the connection you feel with the couple because all of the superfluous distractions are wiped away can be very beautiful!
If you haven’t guessed it yet by the above photo of the epic tree, Emma and Ted’s wedding was hosted at Panga Beach Club in Tamarindo. It was a beautiful occasion styled up to perfection by the ladies of Mil Besos. Don’t miss the cold fireworks for the couples first dance – so COOL!
During the final days of May 2020 Costa Rica was the first Central American country to legalized same sex marriage. I’m so proud of this little country that I have adopted as my home – what a momentous occasion!
Gloriana and Iago chose the newly opened Nantipa Hotel in Santa Teresa to host their wedding day festivities, and let me just tell y’all – Glori and Iago know how to throw a party!! I really enjoyed all of the different aspects of their day; from the copal ceremony (guests give a blessing and added copal to the smoky cups), to the 80’s carnival that started half way through the reception and the henna tattoo station. The drinks were flowing, music was rocking and their guests had a blast!
Marina and Geoffrey, along with their close family and friends, came down to Tamarindo, Costa Rica to exchange their vows and make their love commitment official. It was a gorgeous day at Pangas with Mil Besos at the helm bringing all of the moving parts together for a stunning afternoon and evening.
